Over an eight-week period, we delivered a cross-community digital arts and good relations programme with young people from Lower Oldpark Community Association and Cliftonville Community Centre. Taking place in the Girdwood Community Hub, the project offered a shared, creative environment where participants explored themes such as personal identity, world music, community symbols, and personal logos. Through interactive workshops in music production, graphic design, and filmmaking, young people gained practical digital skills while also building confidence and discovering new ways to express themselves. The collaborative nature of the programme helped strengthen relationships between both groups, encouraging open discussion, teamwork, and greater understanding of each other’s backgrounds. As participants created their own digital artworks, they not only developed technical abilities but also deepened their appreciation of diversity, contributing to improved good relations within the shared space. The programme successfully combined creativity, learning, and community connection to deliver meaningful impact.
