Over a 3 month period we had the pleasure of working with 24 young people from NOW group as part of the Mind Body and Soil initiative. 

During the 26 week project young people also took part in gardening and outdoors workshops, cooking, and resilience training, culminating in a showcase event at the Black Box on 22nd March where participants showcased all the new skills they developed over the previous 6 months.

 Participants worked with BEAMA on DJ and music workshops, learning about a wide range of musical genres as well as getting hands on with the latest DJ kit. They produced live DJ mixes as part of the project. The workshops were a great social opportunity for the young people making new relationships and gaining confidence as part of the process.

 The project was a partnership between Groundworks NI, NOW Group, Orchardville Society, The Hummingbird Project & BEAMA, and was kindly funded by the Department of Communities through the Uniting Communities fund.
